• What Is Remanufactured Ammunition and Why Is It Different From Reloads?
• Remanufactured Ammunition Is Subject To Many Processes Not Available To The Home Reloader
• Firstly, It Is Regulated By The Explosives Regulatory Division Of Natural Resources Canada
• ERD Has Tested, Approved and Certified The Specification Of All The Products We Produce.
• Once Fired Casings Are Sourced From A Variety Of Institutional Sources. They Are Then Sorted And Checked For Any Foreign Matter And Live Rounds. Next, A Basic Cleaning Is Performed And The Casings Are Sent For Full Length Sizing. Following Another Cleaning, All Casings Are Mechanically Checked For Uniformity And Any Other Anomalies. Each Casing Is Then Checked For Cracks, And If Sound, Is Deprimed Followed By A Chamfering Of The Primer Pocket. Final Polishing Follows.
• Loading Is Performed On Ammo Load Automatic Loading Machines. SAAMI Spec Powder Charges Are Mechanically Checked Before Bullet Insertion.
• Loaded Rounds Are Then Sent To Quality Control. Each Round Is Chamber Checked For Consistency Whether It Is Packaged As Bulk Product Or In 50 round Trays.
• While Many Home Reloads Are Of Exceptional Quality, The Fact Remains That Home Reloaders Do Not Have Access To The Equipment And Processes Used In Remanufactured Ammunition Done By Federally Licensed Companies.
